Do you have bad nasal discharge or having frequent cold/coryza/bleeding from nose at times, you need to do a x-ray of paranasal sinuses
do you have any other symptoms -- loosing smell all of a sudden or gradually or any trauma to head or nose
based on your feedback treatment would be suggested.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user
this is a common symptom and takes time to go. Some faster improvement can be seen by trying out the following
1.eat food she likes
2. Add little more salt/spices to enhance flavour of food
3. Smell retraining: improving smell enhances taste
contact for more details if required.

A bitter or bad taste in the mouth can be a normal reaction to eating pungent or sour foods. However, when the taste lasts for a long time or happens unexpectedly, it can be concerning. Taste is a complex sense that can be affected by many factors, including poor dental hygiene, dry mouth, or pregnancy.
Further needed any help I will suggest you personal conversation.
